I call this abstract work “Emergence of Humankind”. The male and female figures are on opposite sides of the central spherical shape, so it can only be really appreciated when seen in interactive 3D where the point of view can be changed dynamically. But these two screenshots gives a good sense of the work. Please let me know what you think!

A turtle model I am working on. I am not happy with this. I will probably start it completely over.

I am also creating a high-detail model of Dr Gregory House, I will post the progress soon. I plan to make this Dr House a complete textured model.
These are just two models I created quickly to practice. My focus was not on detail but just general form. I am very excited – I am learning modeling much quicker than I expected. And it is so much fun!

And now, I am going home from work… to rest… NO to continue working on software that I am helping a friend with, and hope to finish tonight. . Hey, at least he paid me. I like European people!
This is just a realization that came to me now. Not that this would interest you but hey, this is my blog. I have decided to post more ‘Aspects of Me’ here, as I observe them in myself.
“I am happy, but I have not found happiness in life.”
At the moment, I would say this is what defines my state of mind in life most.
I found this on a name analysis website. Funny. I love the comment about numerology!
3 Things You Didn’t Know:
Your personal power animal is the Sabre-Toothed Tiger
Your ‘Numerology’ number is 3. If it wasn’t bulls**t, it would mean that you are enthusiastic, creative, optimistic, and fun-loving. You seek self-expression through words or the arts, and enjoy learning through life experiences.
According to the US Census Bureau°, 0.07% of US residents have the first name ‘Jan’ and fewer than 0.001% have the surname ‘Myburg’. The US has around 300 million residents, so we guesstimate there is only 1 American who goes by the name Jan Myburg.
My latest work is based on the female head I modeled. I call this rendering of a female robot figure “Damage”. It took me about 4 hours to create this model. I was trying to combine an industrial/machine look with emotion, a feeling of ‘life’ in a machine. I think I’ve managed that rather nicely with the blue but dark eye on the undamaged side of the model.
Well, here it is:

I am, very unfortunately, a bit poor to afford real life models to pose for my modeling work
So I am looking through magazines to find good reference photos. It actually helps very much. I am building this head model from a photo I found in a magazine:

I think it looks promising! I am getting there!
A colleague at the company I work for has asked me to make her a 3D model of a compass. The idea I had in my mind was of an old-style compass, an elegant, ancient, expensive-looking compass. Well, here it is:
