Lory Returns

Last week Thursday, at 23:30 I received an SMS – from Lory. If you regularly read my blog, you will know that I have not heard from her in more than a month. In the message she wrote that her cellphone got wet, her SIM card did also not work and she could not contact me because she had my number only on her SIM.

Some of my friends and family warned me that I should not trust her, that it sounds suspicious. Maybe she is not telling the truth, maybe something else is going on. But I asked her about this, and she asked me to trust her, to believe her that she really had no way to contact me.

Well, I need to believe in good people in this life. For that reason, and because of our history, I give Lory the benefit of the doubt. I believe that she is really who I hope she is. I must do this for her – trusting her is the least I can do if I have any respect for her. And I do. So, when you read this Lory – know that for better or worse, I trust you. Because my feelings are genuine.

It is great to have you back. I was very worried! I hope you can come to visit me and my mom this Christmas.

Wall-e

Although I have not seen the movie, one of my colleagues has a small Wall-e toy, and that inspired me to start modeling Wall-e, since the form is very different from organic forms such as people and other animals, and it is good to practice all kinds of modeling.

Here is my progress so far:

Goodbye Lory

More than a year ago, I met a girl from Romania through the internet. Her name is Loredana. Well we got to know eachother and after a couple of months I realised that I really liked her. We had what I thought was a special relationship – and I was planning to get her to come to visit me here in South Africa, to get to know her even better. I really thought that she could be the girl that I would marry some time.

One day I was talking to her on the phone, she was friendly and told me she missed me… and since then she was just gone. She does not answer her phone, and my SMS messages gets rejected. I was always so nice to her, helped her financially when I could, always sent her nice messages, phoned her regularly to hear if she is OK, sent her gifts… and then, without a word, she disappeared, even blocked my SMSs.

Why? I don’t know. She was – she is – a good person, a special person. But she left me and I have not heard from her for more than a month already. I wish I knew why.

Always in the back of my mind, I was wondering if she really meant what she told me. She seemed a little distant emotionally – but I always thought that was because she has a different cultural background, and is in a different country. I was sure how I felt about her, but not 100% sure that she felt the same about me.

I guess now I know. Some things she said to me must have been lies. That is very hard for me to believe. But you don’t tell someone you love him and then just disappear without a word, right?

Still, I believe she is a good person. And exceptional. I did mean the things that I said to her. So, I guess this is finally goodbye Lory. I have waited to hear from you, to hear that maybe there is some explanation… but you are gone. Good luck with life. Really, I mean that. May you find happiness.

And for me – may I find a very beautiful girl again, one that is just as beautiful from inside! Please.. um.. apply inside!!!

The Human Body

Last evening I have started working on modeling the human body. The female body is innately more difficult than male, and more beautiful :) , so I opted for modeling a woman.

Well, this is the progress so far.

I think it is getting there. Thanks to Tony for teaching me about the importance of edge loop topography. It really does make the difference!

Not The Head of a Major Corporation

Last night I stared a head base mesh, and this is what it looks like so far. I know it still requires alot of work, there are many big problems, but I am slowly getting better. Well, here it is:
