Why does life have to be so unfair? Why are there so many good people that suffer, while there are so many bad people that live in luxury and in health? Why? Because it is all random.
I get so depressed, thinking of the good but sick and poor people who, in a philosophical sense, deserves more, when comparing them to the lucky ones who, in a philosophical sense, deserves less.
At these times I sometimes envy creationists who have the religious shield of ‘It is His Plan’ and ‘We will understand one day’. It must make life much easier. For us scientists, though – well we do not have this escape mechanism. We have to somehow try to face, and overcome, the horror of the truth, which is that bad things do happen to good people, and moreover, we are powerless to do anything about it.
I am sorry Lory, that I am powerless.

As a scientist “good” and “bad” don’t exist in a philosophical sense! Problem solved! Anyway, I hope all is well and that it isn’t anything to serious. Keep well, hope it all got sorted out! what ever it was.
