The Archimedes Codex

This book is AWESOMENESS.  It is a must-read.  Archimedes puts to shame almost all modern thinkers; he was a freakin genius.  This book is about a palimpsest he wrote, which was erased by a priest and overwritten with prayers, and how scientists managed to recover the writings of Archimedes.  It is… AWESOMENESS :)

(PS: The picture depicts the original palimpsest, not the book entitled ‘The Archimedes Codex’, which describes the story of the palimpsest.)

People

I like people.  I DON’T like people, but I DO like people also!  The human condition and dynamic is… bloody fascinating.  All the motions, the rituals, the needs and desires, the thoughts and feelings, the mundane and the exceptional – it is really fascinating!  Man, I like people!  No I don’t like people – but I like living amongst them.

Good Book

I seriously recommend the book “An Anthropologist On Mars”.  It is by Oliver Sacks so it is interresting by default.  If you don’t know who Oliver Sacks is, you must REALLY read this book.

At Work

I am writing this from in front of a colleague’s PC, at work, at 12:36 in the morning.  Bleh.  Hey at least it is Friday.  Not that that really means much…

Farve – EXCON Designer Preview

A screencast preview of Extensive Connectivity Designer, which will form part of Farve ‘Lorena’, is available for download.  It is very basic at this stage.  The screencast even includes some cool music for no apparent reason.

Farve Scripting

While browsing www.CodeProject.com yesterday I discovered ConScript by Colin Vella.  This is a scripting language similar to JavaScript, and it is exactly the kind of thing I have been looking for to incorporate into Farve in order to allow user customization on the lowest level.

Thans for the excellent code Colin.  I now understand how to implement scripting languages!  That is so cool.
